What to know about the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials

A loaded crop of U.S. track and field stars will compete in Eugene. Six-time world champion Noah Lyles, who is still riding high off a 2023 World Championship performance that saw him become the first athlete since Usain Bolt to win gold in the men’s 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay events, headlines the men’s field. Joining Lyles on the track will be Christian ColemanGrant HollowayFred KerleyErriyon KnightonKenny BednarekRai Benjamin and more top stars vying for Paris. On the field, Ryan Crouser is looking to formally clinch his spot in Paris, where he will aim to become the first field athlete to win three consecutive shot put gold medals.

On the women’s side, the headliners on the track include reigning Olympic 400m hurdles champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, women’s 100m world champion Sha’Carri Richardson, and two-time Olympic gold medalist Athing MuNia AliGabby Thomas and many more. On the field, reigning Olympic champions Valarie Allman and Katie Moon join first-time Olympic hopefuls like Laulauga Tausaga-Collins, the 2023 world discus champion.
